In conversation with the maverick himself, about his new collection and his latest anthem “save the species”…
Krsnaa Mehta at the helm of ecletic design—tell us about your brand, India Circus and the amazing Godrej association…
I am known the world over for my quintessential taste in design, textiles, and art, and am focused on nurturing relationships, spatial, material and personal through my distinctive designs. When it comes to my brand, I wanted to make and promote contemporary Indian design and culture at affordable prices. I started India Circus back in 2011. After spending over a year in planning technology, finances, product range, production and other aspects of the business, India Circus was launched. Within a year, Godrej discovered us for our modern contemporary design offerings and instilled a sense of stability and confidence in the brand. In December 2015, India Circus became a part of the Godrej Group with a controlling stake of 51%, and the rest as they say, is history!

Change is the only constant. At India Circus, we launch fresh designs across new and existing products every three months. Having said that, my design philosophy has been very Indian since the beginning. There are enough aspects in India that keep inspiring me every now and then, and I love showcasing that through my designs with a contemporary twist.
