One of the hottest trends in the craft world right now is coloring books for grown-ups.

You can’t go to a gift shop, craft store or even a pharmacy without seeing coloring books that are geared toward teens and adults. The themes of the coloring books vary greatly, from Bible verses to aquatic animals and flowers. Most of the coloring books are black line-art images printed on white paper.

Coloring Products

One great thing about the coloring books is that you can use any coloring medium you enjoy. The paper used in most books is nice and thick. You can use any type of marker and even watercolor paints without destroying the paper. I recommend placing a piece of cardstock or cardboard under the design you are coloring if you are leaving it in the book, just in case the color bleeds through. Colored pencils and crayons are always a great choice for filling in the designs.

Gelli Plates Printing

A few years ago, the only way to make a gelatin print was to make a gelatin printing plate. The process was tedious, and the plates were temperamental, often disintegrating within an hour. That’s all in the past. Thanks to Gelli Arts, the soft and spongy Gelli Printing Plate is here to stay!
