THE BEGINNING
“Gebrüder Thonet Vienna pays homage to the technique of bentwood—traditionally used to make headboards—with its new bed fixtures that can be mounted on walls. One of those pieces, Yvette, merges a light sumptuosity with modernism. The decorative styles of the Belle Epoque and art deco eras inspired me. I researched the history, art and architecture of the late 19th century, with interesting elements of art deco homes and jewellery for details that we could recreate.”
