Within 65 storeys of luxury lie three perfect spaces meticulously designed to cater to social occasions ranging from intimate gatherings to happy, largescale celebrations. It would be a sizable endeavor to take on one restaurant or bar in a renowned establishment like Four Seasons, but founders of AB Concept Ed Ng and Terence Ngan tripled the stakes, taking on all three spaces and infusing them with AB Concept’s brand of culture and narrative-driven design.
YUN HOUSE The first of the trifecta, Yun House at first glance absolutely distances itself for the traditional Chinese restaurants of yore. The story behind the design stems from the interplay of Chinese immigrants and the colonial history of the country. The design brief tells the story of the son of a Canton master artist, who moved to Malaysia to make his mark on the world. Dive into the storied world steeped in Chinese heritage intertwined with intricate Malaysian details, paying homage to the multi-cultural aspect of the nation.
Enter the courtyard-like reception area and be struck by the panel screen, which is forged with 152 pieces of blossoming flower-engraved pewter; behind rests a stunningly illuminated onyx reception table. The panels depict a series of bespoke plum blossoms, orchid flowers, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, each used to symbolize the four seasons, also known as the ‘Four Gentlemen’ in Chinese cultural artistry.
