The best resorts and hotels in the world make you want to go back and stay there again because they have successfully combined the natural and the man-made elements to create an unforgettable experience. We have yet to find a technology that can accurately bottle up the vacation experience, but we can recreate some of the design elements from these hospitality establishments in our home for that everlasting holiday vibe.
SPATIAL FLOW
SOFT PARTITION
Curtains are useful not just for windows but also as a stand-in for wall partitions, as seen in K5 Tokyo Hotel, a member of Design Hotels. Designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, it occupies a 1920 bank building and beautifully balances its brutalist exterior with a soft interior partitioned by semi-sheer white curtains dip-dyed in blue, adding an otherworldly ambience.

OPEN WARDROBE
The wardrobe space in hotel rooms seems to be minimum to accommodate temporary stays, which sounds the opposite of the storage provided by walk-in-wardrobes coveted by most Singaporean homeowners. But perhaps, it can inspire a tidier, more minimalist lifestyle? This open wardrobe at The Warehouse Hotel is a chic example.

EXPOSED BATHTUB
Perhaps one of the most distinctly resort room features is the spatial and visual connection between the bedroom and the bath. Take cue from the Andy Warhol suite at the Naumi Hotel. Designed by White Jacket, it features an oval tub partially screened from the view of the bed, making it a functional work of art that pairs well with the suite's iconic B&B Italia UP5 Chair.
