IFJ caught up with one of the founders of this important knowledge initiative on lighting design, ar. kapil surlakar, to better understand its raison d'être.

Lights in Goa, has grown into an important confluence of technical and design thinking in the rarefied space of lighting design. The growth of the conference shows the growing acceptance and importance of the art and technique of lighting design, in India. Here is a conversation with one of the founders of the conference, Ar. Kapil Surlakar. His co-founders are Sacheen Pai Raikar, Pai Raikar & Associates and James Andrade, James Andrade Lighting Ideas LLP, also based in Goa.
1. You organise an important educational initiative LiG in India… What are the aims or goals of organizing this? What do you hope to achieve?
