On approach, the house blends with its surroundings because of a beautiful external brick brought in from Europe. These were painstakingly laid to mix their natural range of shades. Dark grey windows complement the warm walls. The house nestles amongst trees and water, and matches the roof colour of neighbouring houses. It is unashamedly modern at the same time, with dramatic glass-on-glass corners facing the sea.
Cameron Landscapes were given a brief to provide a mature garden look. This was achieved with startling effect and so the property already appears well established within its grounds despite being recently built. The landscaping indeed has an architectural quality in its own right.
On entering the property it is apparent that you are stepping into quality beyond what is normally found in Northern Ireland. You are struck certainly by the light and stunning views, but no less by the sheer excellence of form and function. The doors, for example, were supplied by Toye Door Kits and everyone is bespoke, German-made with hidden hinges and magnetic latches. Achieving a clean look, Kevin remarks that ‘simple always costs more!’ A shadow gap around the doors and skirtings is an unobtrusive addition to the look. Curtains and cushions were supplied by John Robb Interiors. ‘I was very happy with their service and they were very sympathetic to the surroundings, always making it about the views from every room in the house.’
