Colour is key in this vibrant and casual family-centric Christmas celebration

Three’s company The creative trio behind Kip&Co (opposite), Kate Heppell, Hayley Pannekoecke and Alex McCabe, enjoy a pre-Christmas tipple. “We always have a special get-together just the three of us,” Alex tells. “We often give each other gold bangles, and we’ve all got quite the collection now.” Midas touch Mini golden Christmas trees from Kikki.K bring a touch of festivity to Alex’s coffee table display.
Branching out Alex buys her tree from Moorooduc Christmas Tree Farm – “you can’t beat that fresh smell!” Her decorations are a mix of family heirlooms and pieces found while travelling, with a new addition each year – this year it was the Kip&Co pompoms. Small details A marble bedside from Tuckbox (opposite) holds an Ontwerpduo tallow candle from Gingerfinch, vintage jug and ceramic dish by Ruby Pilven. The Meri Meri star garland is from Mr & Mrs Jones.
WHEN YOU CO-OWN A BEDDING AND INTERIORS brand that’s synonymous with vibrant colour and playful prints, your Christmas decor style is bound to follow suit. And that’s certainly the case for Kip&Co co-founder Alex McCabe, whose St Kilda home is decked with vintage treasures and modern pieces in a rainbow of hues come Christmas time (and all year round, for that matter!). The tree is laden with baubles collected from around the world, while velvet Kip&Co sacks and brightly wrapped presents sit underneath.
