Offering a full architectural service, Gerhard Architect was commissioned with designing this contemporary home. The brief called for a timeless aesthetic with clean lines, floating planes, integrated eco-friendly elements, timberwork, and a lap pool – all while maximising the majestic sea view. The firm delivered with ease, producing an exceptional design.

Coastal homes have a soothing ambience that’s naturally present, and this home is no different. Situated in a leafy lifestyle estate located in a small town along KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast, this newly built contemporary home has been designed for family living.

“Our home is our forever home, designed for everyone to have their own space, whether they live here or are visiting,” says the owner.

Sharing on choosing the location and plot, the owner adds: “We opted for estate living, in particular the estate we bought the land in. This was mainly due to the larger boundary lines, allowing for more privacy.

“Our property overlooks an amazing indigenous forest, and is very close to a shopping centre, yet still far enough to feel like we are secluded.”
