Streaming services and quality audio reproduction devices go hand in hand to deliver the best listening experience

One of the great joys of the rise of streaming services is being able to enjoy any musical performance, whenever you like. Whether it’s the latest Top 10 bubblegum hit or a soaring operatic aria, the entire world of music is a click away.

LISTEN TO MUSIC IN THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED TO BE HEARD

“In computing there is an adage – ‘garbage in – garbage out’ – poor-quality input will result in poor-quality or even faulty output,” says AV Imports’ MD Francois van Rooyen. “The same applies to audio – hence using a low-quality streaming service will detract from the performance and enjoyment that our brands are capable of providing. MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is the highest available quality.”

Bang & Olufsen product manager Shane Farey says that taking advantage of quality enhancements like Apple’s introduction of Dolby Atmos would require a device that is capable of processing Dolby Atmos sound – like the Beosound Stage, which has a built-in Dolby Atmos Processor.

Audio Architex’s Rob Arnot says major artists such as Queen, for example, recorded their music in a studio with microphones all over the room from different angles to give off 360° audio, which gives quite an immersive experience.
