A New Kitchen Culture
Society Interiors|Kitchen and Bathroom Special 2016

A New Kitchen Culture

If there is one space that can be called ‘the heart of the home’ it is the kitchen. A room that brings family together; kitchen has evolved as a social and interactive space, where there is a free-flow of conversation and bonding over food. Recent years, have shown preference shift towards modern living and modular facilities. There is an ever-increasing preference for accessible solutions that are easy to-design, customize, purchase and inhabit. Kitchens are now replete with integrated televisions and iPod docks, making cooking a sociable experience for home owners. Combining the two spaces – the kitchen and the living area, lets one indulge in multiple functions like cooking, dining, relaxing, entertaining and working — tasks that have traditionally had their own designated space have blurred the lines to become an interactive zone.
