Needing a temporary place for her family to live during renovations, interior decorator Bronwen Barnes took another look at the staff quarters linked to the garage at the back of the property. “It had the potential to be a comfortable place to stay,” says Bronwen, so with the help of architect Pernille Martin of Buildworx, she turned it into a 44m 2 self-contained cottage. The structure was extended by six metres and large windows with shutters were installed in what would become the kitchen and living areas.
