SEASONAL splendour

EAST OF ENGLAND

ANGLESEY ABBEY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Designed in 1952 as a showpiece, Anglesey Abbey’s dahlia garden boasts a large dahlia collection, with over 70 varieties that provide a colourful display right up until the first frosts. You’ll also find drifts of delicate pink cyclamen carpet the understorey as you walk through the trees from the winter garden to lode mill, while the hornbeams that form the jubilee avenue slowly turn a sunny shade of yellow as the season progresses. The trees on either side of Quy Water also provide rich bursts of colour, perfectly reflected in the river on still days.
