With their partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus has worked towards perfecting their technology. The OnePlus 9 Pro mostly met users' expectations, but there were some who wished the phone offered more. So, the company developed their “second-generation of Hasselblad camera” for the newly launched OnePlus 10 Pro 5G that incorporates latest features, while upgrading the existing ones.
A Multitude of Features
The phone features triple cameras instead of a quad-camera setup. The 10 Pro uses the same 48MP f/1.8 main camera with a 1/1.43-inch Sony IMX789 sensor seen on the 9 Pro, and a similar 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with OIS (3.3x OIS and up to 30x digitally). What has changed is the 50MP ultra-wide angle camera, which now uses a 1/2.76-inch JN1 sensor instead of the 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX766, so that the ultra-wide lens gives you a 150° field of view. The 2MP macro lens has been removed. The selfie camera has been upgraded from the 16MP Sony IMX471 lens to the 32MP Sony IMX 615. New file formats include the RAW Plus feature and 10-bit High Efficiency Image Format (HEIF), the latter works with all three lenses but is limited to Night and Photo mode. The RAW Plus gives you computational RAW files for better dynamic range. There is also dual flash and multi autofocus (PDAF+LAF+CAF).
The rear camera incorporates new features such as Long Exposure, 150° mode (with Fish-eye lens feature), Dual-View Video, Movie, XPan, along with existing Portrait, Nightscape, Pro, Panorama, Video, Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, and Tilt-Shift modes. With the front camera, you can access Night, Portrait, Video, Photo, and Dual Video modes.
