Scott Sinclair netted in the capital on his Celtic debut, and he bagged a hat-trick in the same stadium as the Hoops secured the Premiership title

TYNECASTLE a stadium that, after Celtic Park, is probably Scott Sinclair’s favourite in Scotland. He netted his first Celtic goal on his debut in a 2-1 win over Hearts in the capital back in August last year, having signed for the Hoops just hours beforehand.

And he eclipsed that winner, impressive though it was, with a stunning hat-trick last Sunday to inspire Celtic to a 5-0 win which gave them the three points required to retain the Premiership title for a sixth consecutive season.

It’s been a superb campaign for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who won the title without losing a single game – winning 28 and drawing just two of their 30 league fixtures – while for Sinclair, it’s been a triumphant season as he’s rediscovered the form which made him one of the most exciting young talents in English football.

His treble against Hearts, completed with a late penalty which was also Celtic’s 9,000th league goal in their history, took his tally for the season to an impressive 21 to date, and when he spoke to the Celtic View after Sunday’s title-clincher at Tyne castle, while clutching the match ball, he was clearly delighted with how his time at Celtic has gone.
