Pairing Perfection

Diageo recently unveiled two incredibly rare and exceptional whiskies: Brora 40-year-old and Talisker 41-year-old - both under the brand’s Rare & Exceptional range.

Hand in Glove. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, there are pairings that go well and there are pairings made in heaven. Golf and Scotch. Now, that’s one pair that sends goodness down the proverbial palate.

That the Home of Golf and Home of Whisky resides in the same place is no coincidence. Speyside, Highlands, Lowlands, the islands west of Scotland and even Orkney up north offers spirits and legendary links alike – Carnoustie, Turnberry, Machrie and more.

At the heart of the finest and rarest whiskies in Scotland, and indeed, the world (no matter what anyone says), are a collection that has undergone a history, in some cases, hundreds of years, of turmoil and strife.

This rare and exceptional collection has been fiercely guarded and is now lovingly restored by the house of Diageo, who have begun opening up its myriad of distinct flavours to connoisseurs and collectors abroad.

Here in Singapore, Diageo’s Cask of Distinction programme provides this very rare curated selection of single malt casks that includes much loved names like Lagavulin, Talisker, Mortlach, Caol Ila and bottlings of the final remaining casks of legendary closed distilleries Port Ellen and Brora, and made available for purchase to its private clients.
