How to Select a Golf Car with Electronic Fuel Injection

FYI On EFI

The term “electronic fuel injection” is as common in the automotive world as the term “steering wheel.” But some people outside of that realm understand EFI about as well as they do quantum physics.

Here’s the key point: unlike traditional engines with carburetors and chokes, which suction fuel and can be difficult to start, EFI systems atomize fuel by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle under high pressure.

What does that mean to you? EFI engines start right up, even in frigid weather, and deliver power on demand. They also boost fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and last longer.

Although EFI technology replaced carburetors on automobiles during the 1980s and 1990s, it’s relatively new on small four wheeled vehicles like golf cars.

That’s largely because making the switch to EFI requires a considerable investment of time and money on the part of the golf car manufacturer.

The Rest of the Story …
