Dog days

While we’ve been able to take our dogs for walks during lockdown, with many of us at home all day our animals demand our attention. PetsPyjamas gives 10 ways to keep order
Dog days

With most of us spending almost all our time at home due to the pandemic, it’s the perfect opportunity to give even more attention to our furry friends. Our canine companions can become bored easily, and a bored dog can be a mischievous one. So it’s important to keep your dog mentally stimulated and entertained.

To make the most of this extra time together (and who knows, work practices may change to include more home working after the lockdown), here’s a list of simple ways to keep you and your dog happy and entertained throughout the day.

Tug of war

There’s nothing like a good game of tug of war to drain the batteries of your energetic dog. By setting aside five minutes or so every couple of hours, you’ll keep your pooch stimulated, both physically and mentally. Whether it’s a bit of rope, a toy, or your old socks, your dog will do its best to yank it off you. They might even let you win...

Nose games

Hide treats around your house or garden and send your curious canine on a ‘search n sniff’ mission. You can decide how many treats you hide, but if you make it hard enough, your dog could be snooping around for hours.

Interactive toys

Kong Wobblers or other interactive food dispenser toys are great for keeping your dog occupied, even when you’ve occupied yourself. Your persistent pooch won’t stop until they get their treat, so there’s no chance of them getting bored.
