At first glance of the Vision-S, you’d think that Japanese Consumer Electronics giant Sony was getting ready to take on Tesla, but that’s sadly not the case. For CES 2020 Sony decided to showcase the company’s breadth of automotive technology to provide a glimpse of what features Sony predicts will be in the future of mobility.
But rather than the traditional route of creating exhibition ‘stations’ where the curious can sample each technological example independently, Sony partnered with a number of automotive supply companies such as Bosch and Benteler to create the Vision-S, and it’ll be road tested later this year. Though this looker won’t ever go into production, it will help Sony develop their advanced automotive technologies further.
