Why is everyone a livestreamer?

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines livestreaming as “to stream digital data (such as audio or video material) that is delivered continuously and is usually intended for immediate processing or playback.”

Livestreaming has been around for almost a decade. The term is a portmanteau of words ‘live’ and ‘streaming’, and most of us will associate the term with a live event that is streamed on the internet (as opposed to a cable channel), and in past years you would catch a livestream of a product announcement, like an Apple Event or Samsung’s annual UnPacked, the diverseness of the internet was such that you could also watch a live video of traffic at the Golden Gate bridge, someone’s tropical fish tank, or Eastern Imperial Eagles nesting in Russia.
