‘DAFFODIL DAY IS SO IMPORTANT'

Kellie Sullivan has seen both sides of the coin when it comes to cancer. First, she acted as a carer for her late father, Allan, as he battled the disease. Then, she was struck down herself with cervical cancer.

Rather than feel defeated by the heartbreaking diagnosis, Kellie has rolled up her sleeves, fought her condition and, this Daffodil Day, is raising awareness for the Cancer Council. She’s encouraging others to donate to help families like hers.

“When I think about the Cancer Council, I just want to tear up. I appreciate everything they’ve done for me,” Kellie, from the Noosa Hinterland, Qld, tells New Idea. “I’ll do anything I can to help raise the funds that are needed for the Cancer Council to continue their care and support. It’s not just one cancer, they are there to help everyone who has cancer.”

It wasn’t until later in life that Kellie had an experience with cancer. “I was aware of cancer when I was younger, but it didn’t really impact my life,” she explains.
