We all crave a better night’s sleep. Not only do you feel well-rested after a solid eight hours, but sleep plays a critical role in boosting your health. “Tiredness directly affects our mood, irritability and performance. Sleep doesn’t only impact our mental health ... lack of quality sleep is linked to weight gain, diabetes and even heart disease,” says Dr Amy Reynold, sleep researcher at CQ University Australia. A study in Neuron also found that people’s sleep quality begins to decline at age 30. Add young children, perimenopause or snoring into the mix and it’s easy to see why so many of us need more.
