I'm Engaged To My Vintage Chandelier!

Amanda is so attracted to her 90-year-old light fitting, she’s determined to marry it.

What does your perfect match look like? Most of us have a ‘type’ when it comes to the partner of our dreams. But for 33-year-old Amanda Liberty, it’s a little different.

From the age of 14, the Leeds, UK, local has found herself falling in love with objects rather than people.

‘They are human to me and I fall in love with all of their different personality traits and little quirks,’ Amanda reveals to New Idea.

‘People are always quick to judge me as they don’t understand it, but I wish others would try and see how happy it makes me.’

Amanda openly admits her first ‘relationship’ was with a drum kit, and now she’s engaged to a chandelier she found on eBay.

‘I fell madly in love with the chandelier the moment I spotted her in December 2016, when I was looking for something new to add to my collection,’ Amanda recalls. ‘I quickly named her Lumiere from the film Beauty And The Beast.
