THE WORLD’S IN LOVE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL NEW ROYAL
It was the moment the whole world was waiting for – the first glimpse of the new little royal prince and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child.
As New Idea went to press the baby’s name was not yet released, but Wills teased royal watchers desperate to find out the title of his new son by cracking a string of jokes.
He looked weary at the Anzac Day memorial service in Westminster Abbey as he sat with brother Harry and Meghan Markle, but saw the funny side of the waiting name game.
As William met Sir Jerry Mateparae, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to the UK, the Dean of Westminster said, ‘Jerry would like it to be Jerry’ to which Wills quipped, ‘Jerry’s a strong name.’
Prince William also teased the name Alexander could be a possibility. As Australian High Commissioner Alexander Downer said he favoured his own name for the royal newcomer, William quipped:
‘Funny you should say that... it’s a good name.’
What William did confirm for certain was that his new son and Kate were doing well.
