With his latest venture, Morris Sim strives to raise the bar of community offices by offering a distinctive co-working experience for creative dream-chasers.
Morris Sim is a game changer with an extraordinary resume. Given his spontaneous and inquisitive personality, it comes as no surprise that the Taiwanese tech titan also worked across the industries of entertainment, fashion and hospitality prior cofounding Brand Karma, an award-winning marketing agency that was recently acquired.
At a time where community offices are booming with a growing number of independent working millennials yearning for avant-garde working spaces, Sim has recently co-founded Kafnu, a design-savvy coworking space that allows entrepreneurs to live, work, play, learn and sleep under the one roof. The free spirited businessman shares what he loves about Asia, his favourite spots in Hong Kong and the evolution of his work wardrobe.
Let’s talk about your personal style. What is your philosophy?
My first job out of college was at Microsoft, where some of the best programmers I worked with went barefoot and wore shorts and a t-shirt most of the time. Fast forward ten years later, I worked at Ralph Lauren for a while to help them get into e-commerce, and some of the designers came to work most days like models on a runway. I guess these two extremes have shaped my personal style into a combination of comfortable, simple, and stylish.
What are the things you like and don’t like about working in Asia?
