After years spent residing in Spain, Paris and the US, Northacre CEO Niccolò Barattieri di San Pietro now has his eyes set on London. The forward-thinking property giant is aiming to restore the former glory back into historical developments in the British capital.
Niccolò Barattieri di San Pietro’s interest in buildings was sparked long before he swapped his financial career for real estate in 2006. His passion for properties might just have stemmed from his itinerant upbringing – born in Washington, DC and raised in Rome, he did his undergraduate degree in Paris and lived on a boat for two years in Hawaii as he was completing his MBA. Barattieri had his first taste of England at the age of 15 during his boarding school days and decided to call London home in 1997. With a unique acumen for transforming aged buildings into dynamic, multifaceted communities, the property tycoon discusses his love for the British capital, the future of luxury living and Northacre’s latest development, The Broadway.
Living in a bustling metropolis like London, how do you split your time between work and pleasure?
While work takes up a huge part of my life, it is equally essential to take time outside of work to enjoy life. As I always say, a well-rested mind generates the best ideas! Even though I am always reachable, I try and leave the office at a reasonable time. I’m also likely to be spotted at a cultural event or in the theatre a few nights of the week, with an aim to explore everything that London has to offer.
