Love Create a Couple ‘Bubble’ By Sharing Hobbies and Spending More Time Together.
When it comes to your relationship, the experts agree that a healthy lifestyle will help build trust, improve communication, and bring more happiness! We chatted to Katie H Willcox, author of Healthy is the New Skinny: Your Guide to Self-Love in a ‘Picture Perfect’ World (Hayhouse), and Franco Flach, gym owner and fitness coach at the Cape Townbased Train Station Fitness Centre, to find out more about the connection between a healthy lifestyle and a happy relationship.
Katie and Franco agree that shared hobbies in a relationship are important. ‘Shared hobbies become your common ground,’ says Katie. ‘When work’s over, you’ve got each other and it’s important to spend time with one another doing things you both love.’ Franco says that whether you’re training together or collecting stamps, it’s important to do things as a couple in your own ‘bubble’.
‘A healthy lifestyle is about growing, learning, empowering yourself, and strengthening your relationship at the same time.’
HEALTHY HOBBIES
As health and wellness and shared hobbies are equally important, try combining the two. Katie and Franco both suggest setting a few shared health and wellness goals with your partner to build trust and help each other stay on track.
