Singapore’s biggest fitness event saw the gather of the best in health and fitness
Fitness leaders, athletes, and enthusiasts gathered at Show of Strength, a one-day multi strength sports event, to compete in various genres including bodybuilding and physique. Participants were also treated to seminar workshops, yoga and pilates classes, arm wrestling contests, and more. We spoke with Alex Michael Betts, President of the Singapore Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (SFBF) and International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB); Sam Enaya, Overall Winner for Classic Bodybuilding; and Michael Bawaan, Overall Winner for Men’s Physique to find out more.

What can you tell us about Show Strength Singapore 2017?
First and foremost, I can tell you that it was a huge success! We have had so much positive feedback from athletes, guests, sponsors and partners. We achieved what we set out to do, which was to bring the fitness community together under one roof for a fun, exciting and well organised event focusing on strength sports and activities. This was also the rebirth of the IFBB in Singapore – so we wanted to do it in style! My initial idea was to run something like a mini “Arnold Classic” with more of an interactive approach to allow the audience to be more engaged and to provide more entertainment for everyone. We hope to grow this event every year so this is really just the beginning!
What was your proudest moment in this competition?
The proudest moment was when we arrived at the venue the morning of the event to see how beautifully it had all come together after three months of hard work. Seeing it all there exactly how we had envisioned was really a great feeling! We have also had countless proud moments since the event with a hugely positive response from all those who have attended!
