All convicted for abduction and murder of Dalit Christian youth from Kottayam
The principal sessions court here on Tuesday awarded a double life term and imposed a fine of 40,000 each on all 10 persons convicted of abducting and murdering Kevin P. Joseph, a 23-yearold Dalit Christian youth from Kottayam.
Judge C. Jayachandran sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of 25,000 each for offences under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. He awarded another life term and a fine of 15,000 each under IPC 364 A (abduction). The accused have been sent to the Thiruvananthapuram Central Prison to serve the sentence.
