4 civilians, CISF jawan die as Maoists set off explosives in Dantewada's Bacheli

A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Jagadalpur in south Chhattisgarh, at least four civilians and a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) soldier were killed in a IED blast near Bacheli village in Dantewada district. Bacheli is 100 km west of Jagdalpur.
The explosion, allegedly triggered by Maoists, took place in a hilly area in Bacheli, when the CISF personnel, belonging to 502nd battalion, were returning to their camp in the Akashnagar area after purchasing groceries from a local market.
Two constables injured
"The Naxals triggered a powerful IED blast near curve no. 6 on the hills, killing CISF head constable D. Mukhopadhyay, bus driver Ramesh Patkar, helpers Roshan Kumar Sahu and Johan Nayak and truck driver Sushil Banjare," Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallava said.
