Apple has finally called a series of devices as ‘Pro’, and clearly, that should mean something. The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are vastly improved devices compared to the iPhone XS series and are technological marvels with a very efficient AI system working behind the scenes. A triple camera system with a new ultra-wide-angle camera forms the visible external improvement while a substantial enhancement in battery life makes life much easier. We have the iPhone 11 Pro Max on our test bench. The device is so similar to the smaller 11 Pro that we are mentioning the differences, if any, in this same review.
Design and Build Quality
The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have a stainless steel and glass design. The back glass has a textured matte design and is crafted from a single sheet of glass. The device is water-resistant up to four metres for up to 30 minutes, carrying an IP68 ingress protection rating. The textured sculpted glass at the back makes the device slip-resistant. A polished surgical grade stainless steel band runs along the perimeter and complements the colour of the glass panel. Apple says that the front and back glass are strengthened through a dual ion-exchange process. The triple camera lenses are mounted in a triangular formation on a raised glossy part of the glass panel.
The devices are available in regular Space Grey, Gold, and Silver finishes along with a new Midnight-Green finish.
