“The only way you can conquer me is through love and there I am gladly conquered,” says Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. He clarifies in Bhakti Yoga that the path to unite with the Divine is through the force of love and devotion. When love is a powerful weapon to conquer the Supreme, no wonder it can master man too.
When we talk about love, our immediate instinct is to think of the love stories we have watched in movies or dreamt about through our early years. We also misinterpret love in mythology as one of desire and pleasure and fail to understand there is much more meaning to it.
Have you ever thought about when was the last time you either valued love from someone who cared for your well-being or exhibited a generous gesture for you - be it your maid or worker or shopkeeper - and you returned the same to the person concerned? The truth is, love is considered as either a term coined for romantic relationships only or we have this fallacy about life bonds that we fail to merit the ties outside our blood.
If you have noticed through your life, God reveals Himself in numerous forms to grace each moment, and life has given me many such beautiful moments where love has been manifested in different ways day in and day out.
A few months ago, we were on a short religious trip within the state. The cab driver, who also partly owned the travel agency, was with us driving the car. At every step along the way, he cared for us like his own family, played multiple roles ranging from a driver, caretaker or guide and supported us in unimaginable ways to make the trip memorable and satisfactory. We were touched when he rang up two days later to enquire if all was well with us and even further, he dropped into our home a few days later to reiterate that he could be reached for any personal assistance if needed.
