Q There is a lot of change at work and I feel overwhelmed and anxious. We’re expected to do more with less and I’m worried that if the stress continues, I won’t be able to cope and will lose my job. Jess, 33

A Psychotherapist Jacqui McCouat says: ‘It sounds like a particularly turbulent time for you. It’s important that you build resilience in order to manage your anxiety and stress to navigate the changes at work.

Too much stress is unhealthy. I think it’s time to take a personal audit. Think about what you have in place that supports you positively and makes you feel better. Identify activities that relax and re-energise you – going to the gym, seeing friends, a walk in the park or reading a book. Schedule at least one of these events every two weeks to have something to look forward to. Try to do more of what makes you feel better and less of what makes you feel stressed.

I remember feeling quite nervous going back to live TV.' But the former international gymnast soon realised that it was a symptom of perimenopause and promptly went onto HRT, which she says has balanced her hormones.
