CELTIC FC Foundation is delighted to announce the success of the 2019 Inspiring Sport Parasport event.
Held at Motherwell’s Ravenscraig Sports Facility on Friday, March 8, the initiative, in collaboration with Scottish Disability Sport (SDS), aims to provide more opportunities in sport and physical activity for young people with physical, sensory and learning impairments across the West of Scotland and beyond.
The partnership has been in place for six years and has made a huge impact on the lives of young people and their families, boosting physical and mental health, social inclusion, and building confidence.
The Inspiring Sport project features a series of Parasport events, and is specifically aimed at young people with physical and sensory impairments who attend mainstream education.
The events deliver a wide range of sporting activities for participants to try, after which, specialist staff from Scottish Disability Sport direct the young people to local opportunities. This year Parasport events are being held in Tayside, the West of Scotland, Lothian (including Borders and Fife), Forth Valley and Grampian.
