India will be hosting the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup at home in October-November. After being knocked out in two successive semi-finals in the global event, India will aim to turn the fortunes when they kick start their campaign. One major issue for India before the World Cup is the wicketkeeping department. Rishabh Pant is already ruled out for the global event, and India are looking for at least two options to address the issue.
KL Rahul remains India’s first choice but has been injured since midway through the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Reports claim that Rahul may return in time for the Asia Cup later this month. With time running out, India need to slot Rahul in and get out the keeping abilities in him. Meanwhile, another main option for India is Ishan Kishan, who had a superb ODI series on the tour of West Indies recently.
