They have an ownership group that listens to the wrong voices and an infrastructure that is more 20th Century than it is modern-day. Their general manager, Dave Gettleman, flies by the seat of his pants and makes nonsensical decisions and is no longer availing himself to the media to justify those decisions.
Their head coach, Pat Shurmur, is in over his head and his staff is considered in the bottom ten in the league. The rumors are that Shurmur will be relieved of his duties at the end of this season and Gettleman may receive a pink slip as well.
Entering Week 15, the Giants lost nine consecutive games after they lost (yet again) to the Philadelphia Eagles, tying the franchise record for futility set back in the infamous 1976 season. The losing has seeped into the woodwork at 1925 Giants Drive and appears to be the norm, rather than the exception.
The culture change fans were promised when Gettleman and Shurmur took over before last season has come to fruition. It is a culture where failure is accepted and losing is tolerated. They made several errors in building this team and are now the worst team in the NFC. They may very well be the NFL’s worst team by season’s end.
