Let’s take a look at one mid round prospect from each position and why they could potentially fit on the 2018 Giants.

Ourlad's Mid-Round Draft Prospects

While we don’t know who will be coaching and what the exact schemes will demand when it comes to personnel, we can get a feel for what is generally missing. These are prospects that I expect to still be available after the Giants’ first two selections, followed with scouting notes, and finally how they fit with NYG.

Quarterback Kurt Benkert Virgina – 6’4/215

Fifth year senior that graduated from East Carolina in spring 2016. He then transferred to Virginia for the fall ’16 season and won the starting job. Over two years, Benkert threw 46 TDs/19 INTs on a team that was physically outmatched almost every week. He had some of his best games against his toughest opponents, showing the ability to rise to the occasion. He has athletic footwork in the pocket, can sidestep pressure while keeping his eyes downfield, and he has pro-offense experience.

Taking a quarterback in the middle of the draft for a second year in a row would likely mean the new regime is bringing back Eli Manning. They already have a young mid-rounder in Webb, but you should try to bring in new talent to push your current players.

Running Back Jarvion Franklin W. Michigan – 6’0/220
