Week 1: Denver Broncos
The Giants’ all-time record against the Broncos is an even 6-6...but that’s only in the regular season. Count the Super Bowl XXI victory, and that gives them a winning record over Denver.
Weeks 2 & 18: Washington
Historically, the Giants have dominated the Washington Football Team, with an all-time record of 10569-4. They’ve split each of their two postseason meetings, with Washington winning the 1943 NFL Championship Game, and the Giants winning the 1986 NFC Championship Game. A good portion of the Giants’ winning record against Washington comes from the period between 1954 to ‘64, when their record against D.C. was 18-2-1. This also held off two prolonged periods of dominance that Washington had over the Giants: an 11-game winning streak between 1971 and ‘76, and a 10-2 record against New York between 1978 and ‘84. Their Week 2 Thursday night meeting this season at FedEx Field will be a defining game for both, as the Giants look to continue their current five-game winning streak over Washington.
Week 3: Atlanta Falcons
The Giants are 12-13 all-time against the Falcons, which includes their 24-2 victory over Atlanta in the Wild Card round of the 2011 playoffs. The Giants infamously gave the Falcons their first win in franchise history on November 20th, 1966. A Giants defense that surrendered almost 36 points per game that year played well by their standards, holding Atlanta to 27 points.
Week 4: New Orleans Saints
