After back-to-back wins over West Ham United and Olympiacos, Serge Aurier is keen to keep his impressive performances going and help us record another victory today against Bournemouth, as we look to make our way back up the Premier League table

Serge Aurier produced one of his best performances in a Spurs shirt on Tuesday night as he was at the heart of everything that was good about the 4-2 Champions League victory over Olympiacos – a result which secured our qualification for the competition’s knockout stages.

Serge showed his robustness and discipline in defence, he offered a potent threat on the break and, after he had provided the assist for Dele Alli to get us on the scoresheet, the full back went on to score with a sweet strike as he caressed the ball into the corner of the net with a superb volley.

The display from the defender followed an equally impressive showing from him in our 3-2 win against West Ham last weekend as we earned our first win under Head Coach Jose Mourinho in our visit to the London Stadium. Serge admits that he is feeling happy and confident going into games and is eager to keep that mood going today as welcome Bournemouth to N17.

“I’m feeling good. It’s been a big week at the Club with the change in management. Everyone has started on a clean slate and we must work hard for the new gaffer,” he explained.

“I’m happy because I’m playing. I have waited for this moment for a long time and now I feel confident.

“Before, I couldn’t play every game. I’m not saying I should play every game but now we’re in this new challenge, everyone wants to play, show something and give their best for the new manager and for the new vibe.

“It was very important to get that win against West Ham in the derby. It doesn’t really matter how we play, whether it be bad or good, the result is the most important in these situations. It was the gaffer’s first game, but everyone was focussed solely on their jobs on the pitch.
