The clever team at Insta360 have not only managed to address previous concerns I had about 360 media, but they have also produced a camera that has a user experience that is remarkably similar to what Apple and DJI have accomplished with their products. I believe they have achieved this by targeting exactly what consumers have demanded in this market space. Their success is evident in their popularity, and they are shaping the industry by creating exciting new opportunities for content creators.
It all started in 2014, when Insta360 founder and CEO Jingkang Liu saw potential in the market for a pointand-shoot 360 camera. He entered the market at a time when heavyweights Samsung and Ricoh had the first 360 cameras available to consumers. Liu and his team at Insta360 have now grown to take up more than an 80 percent share in the 360 camera market.
Simply put, this innovative company not only creates the most dynamic and affordable 360 cameras for use in the photography and videography fields; their Insta360 One X camera can be used for architecture, interior design, real estate, journalism, conferences, and events. They also empower content creators to broadcast more immersive experiences by live streaming 360 and producing virtual reality (VR) content as well.

Windracers Mail Delivery
With its partner Windracers Ltd., Royal Mail has become the first UK parcel carrier to deliver mail to a UK island in a 70-mile, beyond-line-of-sight, autonomous flight to the Scilly Isles. Tasked to better connect the islands’ remote communities, a consortium including Royal Mail, Windracers Ltd., DronePrep, University of Southampton, Excalibur Healthcare Services, and Consortiq Limited is funded by UK Research and Innovation.
Counting Penguins
Counting penguins is harder than it sounds. With freezing rain, snow, and chilling winds that limit the flight windows for the surveys, it takes scientists using three full days to map the location of 300,000 nesting pairs of Adélie penguins on Antarctica’s Cape Crozier.

UAS TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT The Key to the Future of Drones
In 2012, Congress passed the FAA Modernization and Reform Act, which established a deadline for the agency: achieve full integration of drones into the airspace by 2015. As the calendar rolls over into 2021, this begs an obvious question: “Are we there yet?”
