Love STRUCK

Harmandeep and Alamdeep's whimsical garden wedding in New York City is reminiscent of a fairy-tale.

It was five years ago in medical school when Harmandeep Dhillon, a New York City-based doctor, was introduced to Alamdeep Brar, a New Jersey-based dentist by their respective families. Being in medical school, the onset of the relationship meant juggling between educational pursuits and the starting of a new relationship. But as they say, what's meant to be always finds a way around, and the two found themselves talking to each other every day. Soon enough, Harman and Alam were sure about taking the relationship to the next level. Before we knew it, we decided we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. For the next 3 years, we remained in a long distance relationship and decided to wait to get married until our schooling was completed, recalls Harmandeep. Luckily enough, the couple had chosen a wedding date in 2021 which remained unaffected by the pandemic. Alam proposed during our pre-wedding shoot at a castle overlooking Lake George. It was perfect and totally unexpected. On June 30, 2021, Harmandeep finished her med-school training and it was on July 3, 2021 that the two tied the knot, I got the fairy-tale wedding I had always dreamed about. Our love story is simple, but it's my favourite one, shared the bride. It was important to our parents that we have a big wedding. I always wanted an outdoor wedding, but convincing my parents was a challenge! We wanted a whimsical, garden wedding and a grand regal reception.
