Feiping Chang and Lincoln Li chose the gorgeous isle of Capri for their wedding, giving family and friends a glimpse of one of their favourite holiday destinations over the lavish, three-day celebration, writes Jacqueline Kot
It started three years ago when they met at a party in Myanmar, and it became official this summer in Capri, when Hong Kong It girl Feiping Chang, the founder of lifestyle website xoxofei.com, and financier Lincoln Li tied the knot during a sun-soaked three-day weekend filled with love, laughs and plenty of limoncello.
Feiping, known as Fei to her friends, and Lincoln chose the glamorous Italian island because they wanted to share a favourite holiday destination with their friends and families. “I love Capri, it’s my happy place,” says Fei. “I always knew that if I were to get married one day, I would want to do it there. I think it’s a really beautiful and magical spot where everyone, not just us, will be able to make amazing memories.”
The couple wanted their 130 guests to experience different parts of the island over the three days of festivities. The celebrations kicked off with a welcome dinner at Da Paolino, a popular restaurant that serves traditional fare under a canopy of fragrant lemon trees, the very essence of Capri.
The night started on a fun note, with the guests having to figure out where they were to sit by searching through a fruit stand laid out in the traditional style of Capri and the Amalfi Coast. There, among the crates of lemons, were the guests’ names, drawn on ceramic plates made by local artisans. The fruit stand also served as a photo booth, featuring the couple’s wedding hashtag in festival lighting.
Once seated, the guests feasted on classic southern Italian fare served family style, including metre-long pizzas that were sliced at the table, fresh burrata with basil, and pasta prepared in the hollow of a parmesan wheel.
