Celebrity hairstylist, Hiral Bhatia gives Eden Noronha a sneak peek into her career, styling skills, and her exciting journey
Hiral Bhatia is a celebrity hairstylist with a clientele that consists of Bollywood’s most sought after fashion icons. Her progressive hairstyles and compulsion to keep creating new looks makes her a flaming force to reckon with. Ever-evolving, with a strong work ethic, she talks about her creative process, her love for art, and life lessons she learned through her journey.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A HAIRSTYLIST?
My mom had a salon and she wanted me to get into the creative field. She always knew I had a creative streak. When I would go to her salon, I would read hair magazines and be extremely excited about it and that is where the seed was planted.
HOW DID IT ALL START?
In college, I loved botany. I was also quite creative. I would sketch and paint, and mom wanted me to do something creative. She took me to BBLUNT to meet someone she knew there, to inspire me. I enrolled there for a course, after which I worked there for eight years, and picked up a vast amount of knowledge. It was great exposure. Since the past two years, I am freelancing and I totally love it.
WHAT IS THE EARLIEST MEMORY YOU HAVE?
My course at BBLUNT. That six-month period was the most amazing part of my life. We were 14 girls who shared an amazing bond. The best part was we would inspire each other. We shared ideas every day and learned collaboratively.
WHEN DID YOU FEEL LIKE YOU FINALLY ESTABLISHED YOUR STYLE?
I wouldn’t say I have established my style because my job is to always keep creating new styles. I plan on constantly evolving.
