From Germany to India, Marianna Mukuchyan has come a long way in the beauty industry. Madhura Sansare catches up with the phenomenal artist to understand her journey.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO MAKEUP?
I've always loved hair and makeup. Even when I was younger, I was always creating new looks and experimenting with hair and makeup on my friends and myself. Before I got into the beauty industry, I was a dancer in Germany for many years. The last dance company I worked with was this crew of girls called Chixx Clique. We used to perform at big opening galas with choreographed shows and costumes. Then, too, I would do the hair and makeup for the girls for all our performances and shoots. That is when I discovered that beauty for me was more than a passion; it was something I would love to take up as a career.
That's how my journey into the world of beauty began. I started doing hair and makeup for other dance shows as well, but I always wanted to explore my talent further and eventually get into the fashion industry. Now, stage makeup is very different from fashion makeup, which meant that I needed to expand my portfolio accordingly. I started doing a lot of test shoots and tried to combine my love for travel with my art by shooting in different places. In this way, I built up my portfolio and grew in my hair and makeup experiences.
