Wella Professionals expert Swati Gupta may have learnt her entrepreneurial skills from her mother, but the credit for making the most of that is entirely her own. Read on as she chats about the Bodycraft chain of salons, the industry and more with HENA DESAI.
How did Bodycraft come into being?
After training extensively under Shahnaz Husain, my mother, Mrs Manjul Gupta, started Bodycraft out of her home in the year 1997, with the aim of providing effective skincare treatments. Through the encouragement she received from her clients and her own drive to succeed, she decided to take the business to the next step by establishing the brand and opening an exclusive outlet at Assaye Road, Bengaluru.
Over the years, my brother Sahil Gupta and I have joined the family business, with a unified vision of taking Bodycraft to new heights. Now, Bodycraft offers hair, skin, spa, nail, bridal, and dermatology/cosmetology services at 10 outlets across Bengaluru, also spreading its wings to other locations in India soon.
