It’s time to be wise on how much money you use on cosmetics and hair
ARE you worried that you are spending too much money on beauty, especially on products you are not even using? Do you walk into a shop planning to buy one beauty item and end up walking out with seven instead? Beauty is a woman’s best friend but when is it too much?
BEAUTY INDUSTRY BOOMS
Women around the world have one thing in common and that is investing in their beauty. According to market research firm, the NPD Group in the US, sales of “prestige” make-up increased by 13 percent last year.
Customers at Dis-Chem, located at the Nicolway Shopping Centre in Bryanston, each spend about R1 500 a month on make-up, according to assistant cosmetics manager, Lebo Masinga.
“Our customers don’t mind spending R1 000 on foundation and R500 on a lipstick,” she reveals.
It has also been revealed that customers at Clicks in Gugulethu spend about R400 a month each on beauty products.
