Seasoned actress wears the diva crown and explains where it comes from
NAMBITHA Mpumlwana qualifies as a veteran actress. The award-winning star might be popular for her Generations role as Mawande, but she has starred in many other local and international films. Years of experience didn’t just earn the star a good reputation; she also earned the diva tag. She has in the past denied the tag, but she now wears it with so much pride.
BEING A DIVA
Nambitha has on many occasions been accused of being a difficult person to work with, with that, she was labelled a diva. The seasoned actress continuously denied being a diva, until a recent TV interview where she proudly embraced the title.
“I was raised by a diva. She knew her personal space where she knew her stillness. She understood her needs and she communicated her needs, and if she needed to communicate them to you, she did that. And she taught me to do that,” she explains.
