Sticking Together

WHEN the Ngwenya family first joined Mzansi Magic's Isibaya, fans thought they were just another taxi family. But they have since become the family viewers love to hate. The Ngwenya’s are power and money-hungry, having clawed their way to the top regardless of the consequences and will do anything to stay in control.Move! speaks to the actors portraying the Ngwenya family.

MENZI NGUBANE

The veteran actor does an amazing job portraying the disturbingly power-hungry taxi boss, Judas Ngwenya, a man with no qualms about bending the rules for pure personal gain.

The ruthless and scheming Judas has wrecked havoc and everybody knows about the lengths he went to to get what he wants. He rose to success, but lost his soul along the way.

“Judas violently removes anything that prevents him from getting money. But what’s most important to him is his family,” says Menzi about Judas, who is not above destroying a life or two to get his way. Personally, he says he likes the character because he’s family-orientated. What he dislikes about Judas is that he is too greedy.

He admits that in the taxi business there are always fights, especially for routes and with other associations.
