Tea with the Queen! HARRY & MEGHAN'S DESPERATE ACT

They walked away from the royal family 18 months ago, confident that they could start a successful new life in the United States.

But after rocking the royals on several occasions during that time – including alleging that one relative made racist comments – Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are now desperate to try to mend fences because they realise just how much they need their royal connection with his family.

The couple, who live in California, has requested a meeting with the Queen, and also asked that they can use Winsdor Castle as the venue for the christening of their three-month-old daughter Lilibet Diana.

There’s been no answer yet and many members of the Queen’s staff have been flabbergasted by the approach, especially as the Sussexes have made life difficult for the royals with some of the allegations they have made.

“A lot of people are shocked by the sheer nerve of it,” says a palace insider. “They may genuinely want to see the Queen, but that’s breathtaking given what they have put her through this year.”

Her Majesty, 95, is still very fond of Harry, 37, despite everything, and would love to meet Lilibet and catch up with Archie. “But courtiers are very surprised by the move, especially by Meghan, after everything that has happened.”
