Too busy to exercise? You’re not the only one – especially when the sun is shining. In fact, almost half of Brits say they don’t have time to work out.* But staying active doesn’t have to mean an extreme regime. Whether you have 30 minutes or two hours, fancy an online class, prefer the outdoors or just like moving at home, we reveal the best fat-burning activities to help to kick-start your weight loss.

1 Jogging
A cardiovascular workout that has a positive effect on blood pressure and cholesterol, and can reduce anxiety, too. Alternate between walking and jogging – the NHS Couch to 5K app will help to track your progress (Free, App Store and Google Play). Prone to knee pain? Choose grass over pavement, and invest in a quality pair of trainers to help to reduce impact.
2 Skipping
Not just for the playground, a skipping session works the whole body. You’ll get fitter, sculpt your shoulders, arms and legs and boost bone health, too. Turning the rope from the wrist, not the elbow, will give you more control. Plus, try to land lightly on your toes (instead of putting your heels down). You’ll skip faster, and burn more calories in the process.
EXERCISE SAFELY
Stay well-hydrated and rest if you need to. Chat to your GP if you feel any pain during or after a workout.
